Rather than pontificating on what we will be listening to, when we finally get the balls to ram a double-barrel up our gobs, let's instead talk of thse choons that get the feet tappin' and send you hurtlin' towards the dancefloor like a bucking he-goat/she-goat at the height of mating season.
Hey Ya by Outkast, I've heard it a billion times, but it taps into spinal reflexes that I can't control turning me into a jiving spastick. It's the American hip-hop that's doin' the business on the dancefloors these days, God, how dnace music as we knew it has all but died.
anyone see the Kerry priest who interrupted the marathon? they're interviewin him on the radio here at the moment, seems like a really nice guy! |

I'm sure he is a nice guy, if a little stupid and misguided. What was the message he was trying to get across?
As for dance floor tunes... Hey Ya (again). Apparently Lou Reed was asked a while ago what the best song ever made was and he chose Hey Ya. Loving it.
I'd love to get Toytown is a Drag or Weaponized on at a club... ah dreams.
Being a typical indie kid that's not made it to a "proper" dance club in many years, I've always loved Cannonball by The Breeders. You can hardly dance to it but I'm always a pogoingsweatythrasharoundtwat when I hit the floor at The Leadmill to it! _________________ "fashioned by the blade of a world that doesn't care,

Would you be shaking that skullstick they mentioned in the other thread, a la bez?
Didgeridoo by aphex twin, that would turn the nightclub of my dreams into a jelly legged apocalypse.
The Kerry priest, Fr. Neil Horan, he said on the radio this morning that while he feels sorry for the athlete, he cannot regret his actions as that would be quote "like asking Jesus if he regrets turning over the tables and stalls in the temple".....Err ye whah now? He also said to give him time and his motivations will become clear to all of us and that he will nver engage in such an act again.
However, not to be too down on him, he campaigns for global peace, and sent a letters to George W. Saddam and Tony Blair offering to do his peace jig for them, just like ecstasy addled ravers he believes that dance crosses all boundaries and has the capacity to bring peace and unity to this fucked up world. George and Saddam nver answered his offers and apparently Tony gave him a flat out no, but he still did a jig outside no.10 in his kilt and tam o shanter hat. What a pro. |

Groove Is In The Heart and One More Time can temp John Mc to throw wild, scary shapes on the dancefloor. There was an article in last months Word magazine about songs guaranteed to fill a dance floor and the top 5 included Dancing Queen, Dancing In The Dark, Open Your Heart and two other tunes I can't remember. |

Whenever hearing Sly & The Family Stone, especially 'Stand' or 'Thank You' I simply have to throw myself around into silly shapes and possibly do the 'big fish little fish box' when hearing leftfield. Has to be done I'm afraid. Or even at a push the Time Warp. Get those knees in tight |

I don't get what is so great about "Hey Ya", especially his voice is sucky.
I liked the roses song much more...and Kinkster, I adore the lyrics now, even though the word poopoo doesn't sit fine.
