That letter just surprised me cos it’s the first negative thing I've read about Gerrard from a Liverpool fan. From the few games I've seen this season it looks like he's been playing as well as ever but the transfer thing over the summer was badly handled and the constant transfer speculation is annoying. Did he go off to the dressing room sulking on Saturday? I'd have thought that he'd gone to warm down or something in preparation for the game on Wednesday.

Also, after you posted it I couldn't get that 'La Bamba' chant out of my head yesterday. I hope thats our cup final single if we get there this year.

that football365 webpage has some pretty funny stuff on sometimes. The media watch section usually makes me giggle.

it wasn't a sulk, i don't think, but it would have been nice for him to show some interest in whether the team was going to win the game or not. i'd have thought a warm down or preparations for tomorrow could have waited 20 mins or whatever. not really a big deal...

i've had that la bamba thing in my head since saturday. also, our other new "song" da da da da da da da, to the tune of "ring of fire". why i do not know, but it is similarly catchy.

dave the w and adam the w, where is the best place to meet tomorrow in town or up at the albert? it's usually best for me to meet somewhere where there are not too many people 'cos i get confused and can't see anyone (strange but true) then we can get off to the crowded house (that'll be a first).

the albert would definitely be a bad choice for somewhere quiet. somewhere in town would suit me fine, as i'll have to go there on my way anyway.

can't immediately think of anywhere in town that'll be guaranteed to be quiet. decisions, decisions...

I won't be getting into L'pool until 6'ish... I've got daughter-sitting duties until then; but there's a possibility that someone will be able to look after her earlier for me.

I recommend that I txt msg u when I get into town... I normally get off at Moorfields, and then get the train to Sandhills, then the Soccer Bus to the ground. It's a cracking journey.

So - I can meet you in town, then we go up to the ground together; or near the ground... but my eyes aren't the best either Sad

I can't fekkin' wait. I';ve been practising swearing at the cat, and everything.

Pick a pub, then, Dave... I don't spose that any of the ones that were there when I lived in Liverpool are still standing & convenient for then going on to the ground.

Which is the one more or less dead opposite Central Station?

i probably won't be able to get there much before 6, a bit depending on what trains are like.

i usually get a bus from queens square, but i'm happy to pay for a taxi if that will give more options/drinking time!

kick off is 7.45

might be pushing it to get back to lime street by 10, but it's possible

i think there's a pub called the pumphouse at albert dock, but haven't seen one in lime street. where abouts is it? is it that one attached to the station itself? can't remember what it's called, but i think it's quite big, so it shouldn't be too full.

think it's called head of steam now (just did a quick search).

it's a bit maze-like, with lots of rooms, but i'm sure we'll find eachother.

do you still have a big beard, martin?
