Yeah I really like them, not so much their first album, or shootenanny which was a bit toss but the other three are great, I really like 'I like birds' and 'the bus stop boxer'. Im gonna get the new one soon as ive got any cash money. |

I love Beautiful Freak, Electro-Shock Blues and Daisies of the Galaxy, but Souljacker lacked the colour, wit and invention of the previous three albums and I lost touch with them.
I interviewed "E" in Cardiff once. He was rude to some old people who came and sat at our table.
What's the new album like? Is it a continuation of E's toy instrumentz with beatz approach? _________________ The Musical Mystery Tour,

It seems to be kinda the follow-up to Electroshock Blues/Daisies of the Galaxy. He's been working on this one on and off since then, it seems. Being a double album, it seems like a lot to digest but so far it measures up to his previous stuff... it certainly sounds a lot like Electro-Shock (as you say, toy sounds with beats) rather than the guitars and a band approach of Shootenanny!. All in all, it sounds like a very sad and ... I've actually found bits of it too sad to listen to. Very Tom Waits-y.
But you don't like Shootenanny? Wow. I love it. It seems like guitar pop perfection to me. Souljacker I find much more patchy. I'm very excited about seeing them at the Royal Festie Hall next month.
And I'd imagine E certainly has the capacity to be... er, rude. But I also imagine that he does good interview...? |

Shootenanny just seemed like he was phoning it in, there were one or two good songs but the rest were like eels by numbers. I liked Souljacker though, so what do i know. |

The thing about good interviews is you need good questions... and that's where the problem lay that day, I think. [ask bc, he'll tell you ]
I haven't actually heard Shootenanny... it was Souljacker that I wasn't so keen on: but I did like the remix of Mr E's Beautiful Blues on the bonus CD that came with it... so much so that it's still being used as the theme tune to a radio show I present. _________________ The Musical Mystery Tour,

I like Eels, particularly Electro Shock Blues. High class stuff. I always find Eels a bit magical in a strange way. |

Electro shock blues is one of my favourite albums ever. Souljacker and shootenanny were a bit poor though. The new one is sounding good to me so far. _________________ Martin O'Neill's Claret And Blue Army |
