I've never like Bellamy but I've read interviews with Bobby Robson and Gordon Strachan and they both say that, while he swears even more than Snoop at Live 8 and complains all the time, he was never that much trouble for them and was worth the hassle they did give him. And anyone who winds up Graeme Souness that much can't be all bad.
What do you expect from Villa this year Hew? |

i like the players we've got so far. Berger should be good if he can stay fit. I wish he was a bit younger. We should have got him before he went to portsmouth. Philips is still a decent player but we need someone better up front. We relied on solano too much last year. I think Bellamy would be a good signing or maybe robbie keane. I can't believe that everton will be able to finish in the top 4 again. I think it would be pretty short sighted for people to go there ahead of teams like villa and spurs. _________________ Martin O'Neill's Claret And Blue Army |

Why would he go to chelsea anyway? I could see him going abroad but i don't know why he would go to another english team. Unless it was the villa of course. Imagine it... Gavin McCann and Steven Gerrard in the centre. Fantastic. _________________ Martin O'Neill's Claret And Blue Army |

Obviously its not a bad thing thats he's staying but I was disappointed when I found out he was. I was excited about getting Ballack and Duff and loads of other players that were being talked about in the papers this morning. Just seen an interview with him on TV and he seems to want sympathy, saying that the supporters don't know what he's been through in the past couple of days. It must be hell deciding if you want to play for the European Champions for 100k a week or the Premiership Champions for 90k a week. |

i'm sure he must have apologised to the fans for fucking us around for a year, his often mediocre performances last season and the shambles of the last week, but i haven't seen it yet.
how much of an idiot/egomaniac must he be if he thought the club didn't want to keep him? was there one press conference in the last 12 months that didn't involve rafa or parry saying how much they wanted him to stay?
duff + £20m would have been very nice. oh well.
how many times do you think we'll have to lose next season before this starts up again? |

Never mind next season, i'm sure the situation will have changed by the time I finish typing this post.
He was also going on about how he thought talks about his contract would start immediately after the Champions League final and if they had done he'd have signed straight away. What's the rush? He's still got 2 years left on his contract anyway and surely the negotiations would have lasted all of 2 seconds:
LIVERPOOL: Would you like to continue play football for us and learn lots of money for doing it?
SG: Yes please. |

Not any more. He's losing it from the front and has got it short.
And wasn't it ribbons or ties in his hair, don't think it was coloured. _________________ Be sad, be happy and be wise |

here's a fun one.... I have four children. It has become tradition that on their second birthday each child gets assigned a premier league team to support. As my wife follows La Liga and I don't care there is no household team allegiance except for a loathing of manU. At the party we have a full kit with their name...blah, blah. You get the drift. From then on if their team wins silver then they get a new jersey.
so far we ahve a 12 year old--Arsenal; 9 year old--Liverpool; 4 year old--chelsea (yes...this was an expensive year to buy shirts).
the little one's 2nd b'day is coming up and we want to get moving...team recommendations. Not a Scunthorpe. someone with a chance at some silver...what do ya think??? |
