Being a big fan of the Jeff Wayne War Of The Worlds ("Ooooh-laaa") I was expecting not to like the film, is it really worth seeing then?

I saw Batman Begins last week and that was pretty good - well, better than the other Batman films anyway.

Saw it last night. Was much better than expected, but that's not saying much... I expected it to be shit Wink

Shouldn't be a 12A in my opinion, it is pretty scary in places.

theres definately some post 9/11 catastrophe stuff going on in it, and theres that bit where the guy says 'no occupation has ever been succesful', I thought it was more like a war film than an alien film. If you like peril you'll love it.

Well I wanted to see Batman Begins as I have liked every film I've seen with Christian Bale in, plus I was intrigued to see how successful it's re-invention could be.

I went to see Star Wars III because it's the law.

and War Of The Worlds I watched because it's one of the first books I can ever remember reading and being enthralled by.

I'm off to Florida in a fortnight, I'm trying to get cultured Wink

i'd have to agree with ya Hew.....although i did see it saturday night & i thought it was'nt all too bad except for the ending, cuz @ the end, the aliens spacecrafts start to die for no odd reason, which i thought was pretty dumb......anyways i was gonna ask you if u seen were Tom Cruise got sprayed in the face by a reporter's fake microphone. i actually thought it was pretty funny, cuz after he got sprayed in face he kept stutterin' "y-ya-yr-a-ja-ja-ja-jerk, y-y-ya-kn-know that! ya-y-yr-just-a-a-ja-jerk!!"............Rolling Eyes he coulda' atleast called him a f'in b' or asked him what the fuck are doing man?! you think that's funny?!.....but jerk Confused.......C'mon! Rolling Eyes nobody uses that word anymore.....i have'nt heard anyone use the word jerk like that since the 80's.

i'm not saying he's a wimp or anything, but the way Tom confronted him is what threw-me off.......here he's supposed this huge character in Mission Impossible and yet he don't even know how to punk a news reporter. Confused

Wooooo there, we're getting dangerously close to having a go at Tom Cruise here. I don't mind people criticising me, my family or things I believe in but TC made Top Gun and Jerry McGuire and is therefore, in my opinion, above criticism.
