Yep, today's looking like a great day indeed - woke up to news of the demise of the egg, then the copy of buk's 'most beautiful woman in town' i ordered turned up in the post, i found ffa coffi pawb's 'hei vidal!' in oxfam during my lunch break, the sun's shining again, there's footy on the telly and my girlfriend's out for the evening.

agree with you totally tommyt about the west ham - was giving him the benefit of the doubt up til then, even defending the guy. and sacking him was surely the only way he'd go - of all of his 'qualities', he was stubborn as a mule. don't think he'd have ever left of his own accord (having said that, I'm surprised he didn't try and make the change two minutes before the end).

enjoy norwich anyway - i hope you're right about the performance - i'll be watching it in my local and have been dreading the barracking i'll get if we're as bad as we were at brighton. talking of which, didn't we lose the last manager after losing at brighton too?

So much for the golden generation of England players then. I used to be bothered when England got beat but i don't really care any more. Plus i had a bet on Northern Island to win at 14-1 which was nice.

Good win for your lot tho Tommy, your harsh words on here after the last game must have inspired the team. You don't fancy taking over the England team do you?

I was laughing at the news that Northern Ireland had gone in front, when Thierry Henry woke up and scored in the other game

Me: Yeah, we really should beat them easily. Smile

Me after the Andorra game:
Mad

Nice win on Wednesday though...! Very Happy
(shame it's too late already)

Did anyone see Salif Diao's crazy overhead flick thing on his debut for Portsmouth? There was more skill and creativity in that one move than he's showed in two years at Anfield.

Man who earns thousands of pounds a week confused about why fans might not been overly keen to pay £25+ to watch their team play someone they've never heard of in a competition that no one really cares about:

oi, that's my favourite Greek team you're belittling there (well, I liked the fact their name started with X)

speaking of nobodies... did anyone see Everton last night playing the mighty Dinamo Bucharest? I was out, missed it, came in, put on teletext for the night's football results, and as I waited for the page to come around, thought to myself what the Everton headline might be, and jokingly thought it would be 'Everton thrashed in [wherever]'
Didn't expect (too much) to be right about it!

what a nightmare for the bluenoses. Best team on Merseyside? hah.

Sorry about that, there wasn't enough exciting football played in that game today so i had to drag in stuff from other threads to justify posting at all. And still I failed.

Real Madrid have stolen the Giant Steps font for their new kit. I assume they'll be trying to sell it back to the Boo's this time next year for twice the price they paid for it.
