As if the PL hasn't had troubles with that...I remember a well known Liverpool goalie in particular...
Anyway, don't ruin the happiness!

there was nothing in the rule book to say you couldn't wobble your legs in a penalty shootout
I have to wonder if this thread is a reaction to Italy's home draw with mighty Lithuania in their Euro 2008 qualifier on Saturday... |

It hasn't been for Juve either. In sports court, suspicion is enough.

Nope, I didn't really follow qualification this weekend, and now that they've won the world cup I'm at peace, they don't HAVE to win for a while.

grobbelaar was never punished by the football authorities either, though, so i don't think it's comparable. |

didn't The Scum just keep appealing court decisions until they finally got a jury with enough people to agree with them, and Bruce couldn't afford to appeal that? |

i can't remember the detail, but i think there were there 2 criminal trials where the jury couldn't reach a verdict so he got cleared. then he sued the sun for libel and won, then lost on appeal then won again on another appeal but got no compensation. something like that.
i suppose football punishment probably had to wait for the legal proceedings to end, and by then he'd retired, so maybe i shouldn't read too much into to the lack of punishment.
i've read that some people close to the club (local journalists etc) reckon he was guilty, but there didn't seem any evidence of it to me in the games in question, so who knows? |

I felt he was innocent of the charges, although one dodgy thing was the way Man U went 3 goals up against Liverpool so easily at Anfield... that would never happen normally |
