Interesting.

Loads on here that I've not got/listened to but I have thought that I'd like to. The ones I have heard I agree are great albums... could be a good 'next purchases' list...

I've never heard any of Bjork's albums so I don't know if Vespertine is any good. I think I prefer Q's lists where its always Revolver or something by Oasis or Radiohead at number one, I fear change.

Best live albums ever anyone? My life is just a series of lists these days.

best live albums?

3...

ian dury and the blockheads at brixton academy
(if i got musical nerdy and could lower meself to descirbe bands as "tight" then the blockheads remain the best band i've ever seen)

go-betweens at the barbican
(2 full discs of the whole wonderful set - lovely 'cos it captures such nice strings!)

brave captain
(no bias just like the mixing!)

the rest? arse!

My top three live albums, in no particular order.

Ben Folds - "Ben Folds Live"
Better than any of his studio albums. Features a rather good cover of "Tiny Dancer". There's a 2-disc special edition with a DVD, though it's only of highlights from the tour.

Reel Big Fish - "Our Live Album Is Better Than Your Live Album"
After years of begging their record label to drop them, Reel Big Fish finally got their wish this year and put out a three-disc (2CD, 1DVD) epic to celebrate. The band are in a great mood and it definitely shows.

Smashing Pumpkins - "Earphoria"
Okay, it's not technically a "live album" but there are some excellent live renditions of "Siamese Dream" era tracks: a grungy version of "Disarm", a mellow acoustic version of "Cherub Rock", and what is possibly the definitive live version of "Today".
