Both. In the past five years they've become scarier and more interesting. In the past five years I've become fatter and less interesting.
I miss Zig and Zag,

'Wearing My Rolex' - It's hip-house! It's electro-grime! It's that Wiley single which is eating the world alive and it's the bravecaptain board Tune of The Day. |

just discovered that a temp I'm working with is a musician on the side, so today my tune of the evening is by Peach Boy, check out his MySpace music page...hard to choose just one song, they're all sweet summery songs...ok, I'm choosing It's A Kiss.

Gnarles Barkley - Going On
By far the best tune on a very disappointing second album.

Hearts on Fire - Cut Copy. Their first album was bad New Order. Their second album is good New Order with extra sunshine and sparkle. Lovely stuff. |

yup i know you've all stopped talking about new albums on the last page of this thread but i'm slow to catch on.
this year has been largely a let down live (notable exceptions dan le saac and his 3 bands/poet show which was so fking ace, the whip, simian mobile disco, kyte, fanfarlo, nova saints, aspen woods, light of words, bjork, glasvegas, xx teens, long blondes and prescious few others i cant remember notwithstanding, gawd i've stood some dull shite recently), top singles in short supply (teenagers in tokyo rule though and if i ever get a better 10"s in my life i'll write a carry on film) but albums?
yipes even before dan le saacs doubtlessley brilliant album hits our streets i've loved - to date - the dodos, the whip, the teenagers, one more grain, neon neon, these new puritans, i was a cub scout, long blondes and would say they've ranked much above what i bought last year.
shite album, give it a wide berth album is the new sebastien tellier one which is - and i've tried to like it - just putrid. didn't like the camp actor much one either but not given up on that entirely... yet.
anyhoo todays tune
is all of teenagers in tokyo's ep. _________________ Britain... It's not that Great! |

they won't sleep by kyte
i love kyte. they are lovely lads and they write lovely songs.
the musical equivalent of drinking a mug of hot choccie with melting marshmallows in front of a log fire, of eating a pastie on the hoe watching the sun set on plymouth sound, of getting a table in yer fave bar with yer fave mates and getting the first round in, waking up Saturday morning to yer best other 'alf, placing the needle at the start of the rockingbirds debut lp... basically any great contentment you feel in life.
people who don't like kyte are basically loveless

Very Sleepy Rivers (live) by Mercury Rev.
A chaotic mix of guitar noises and some nutter rambling over the top, which manged to last the entire length of my (admittedly short) bus trip into town when my i-pod picked it first in the shuffle. _________________ Scattershot Writing: www.jameseverington.blogspot.com |

Blind by Hercules and Love Affair. At first I thought the album was too disco for me but I've now realised that the rest of my life isn't disco enough. Must become more disco. |
