I was browsing stuff on Play.com when I found something interesting...
Has anyone else heard about this?!
http://www.systemrecords.co.uk/radleys-giant-steps-p-1031462.html
So, apparently they're going to release a remastered 3CD version of Giant Steps next month with all the b-sides from that era. I've already got them all, but this is still pretty ace! If it's true, that is...
Anyway, you can already pre-order the album on Play.com and Amazon at least. _________________

According to this website, Wake Up! will also be released as a deluxe 3cd edition!
http://www.systemrecords.co.uk/radleys-wake-p-1031461.html
There's no release date for it yet, but looks like you can already pre-order it as well.
Now we only need someone to confirm that this isn't just happening in my dreams. I'm posting this at 5:30am so that may very well be the case. _________________

Wow, that's great. I've only got some of those tracks on vinyl, so it will be great to get them on CD. Feel suddenly happier. _________________ Scattershot Writing: www.jameseverington.blogspot.com |

Come on, isn't anyone else even a tiny little bit excited about this? _________________

Can't believe its been 17years since I purchased this life enhancing work of genius.
Some of the tracks should be extra's on an Everythings Alright forever 3 disc set though, but never mind _________________ we spent a lot of time trying to make our guitars sound like trumpets...then someone told us we could actually use real trumpets |

Hey so I got these for my Birthday yesterday and would report the following...
The packaging is lovely and the sound on the remasters is clearly better than the originals...Cherry Red are a top company when it comes to this sort of thing....
Trying to bottom out disc 3 however Tracklisting on sleeve says 13 tracks but their is deffo 14...think there is an extra lazarus remix on there...need to dig out the singles and check.
Very nice items and a total bargain at a tenner...recommended... however as EAF is one of my favourite albums ever i'm hoping for a special edition of this as well at some point... _________________ we spent a lot of time trying to make our guitars sound like trumpets...then someone told us we could actually use real trumpets |

Yeah, it's an extra Lazarus remix - can't remember which one... _________________ Scattershot Writing: www.jameseverington.blogspot.com |

I have really enjoyed these.
For the first time in many a year I have played giant steps and wake up from end to end without just selecting certain tracks, the remastering is great, the packaging ncely put together and the music of course is ace.
Giant Steps still sounds as good today as it ever did...sprawling, supremely ambitious with noisy squalls seaging into gorgeous tunes....rightly reaffirmed as one of the top 5 albums ever released.
Wake up! remins the same for me a great album of course but in my opinion a slight dip in form between the four colossal Boo albums (EAF, GS, CK and Kingsize)however Martin Doom! and stuck on Amber remain amongst there finest.
Bsides as we know are ace....however quite noisy and experimental to listen to in one sitting over and over again but great to have in one place...
My only annoyance with the whole project is that there should be an EAF remaster with the appropriate B sides instead of tacking them onto the Giant Steps disc...maybe one for the future.....
ordered Cmon and Kingsize and they should arrive today...looking forward to it...! _________________ we spent a lot of time trying to make our guitars sound like trumpets...then someone told us we could actually use real trumpets |
