I'm listening to Johnny Cash's version of Hurt. My god, what a song, its brilliant. I didn't realise just how famous he was in the 60's in America with his TV show, I thought he'd always been an underground figure.
Whats the original version by Nine Inch Nails like? Is it overblown gothy rubbish? |

I think I have the original version by Nine Inch Nails on CD but I can't be bothered to listen to it now because I don't think they're very good.
Anyway, the 'Hurt' cover by Johnny Cash is absolutely brilliant, if you want to see the music video of it, click
here
.
It's a very beautiful and touching video, and Johnny's death soon after that gave it a whole new meaning. I just love it how he shuts the piano lid in the very end. Boo-tyful.
OK, just listened the original 'Hurt' by NIN. It's not actually that bad, but it's nothing compared to the Johnny cover version - too soulless and boring when it could have been so much better. Definitely not overgrown gothy rubbish, probably quite overrated though. At least I can't say that I love it. _________________

the original far outshines the cover because it's reznor singing.
or something. no. i prefer NIN to Cash's but i think it's to do w/ the crazy noises. |
