they sell curd tarts here in barnsley... i have no idea what they are but the word sounds funny. curd tart - TURD CART!
oh... what do you mean that isn't funny?
the new album sounds good so far. it sounds quite happy and exciting, i like it. 'metamorphic rocks!' is a bit weird but not bad. all the other tracks are very good, especially 'good life', 'blip blap pip blie', 'flow machines' and 'weaponized'. and the title track itself of course.
i will probably write more later. i'm going to see barnsley fc play against bristol city tonight. _________________

dave w, the sooner michael owen fucks off the better. we can have a steady front two of baros and cisse instead of waiting for the dwarf to have a good game every now and then.

that seems a bit harsh. owen's goals have been carrying the team for a while. i wouldn't like to think what the last two seasons would have been like without him - they were bad enough as it was. his goalscoring record is loads better than baros's. baros scored a grand total of....[drumroll]....ONE league goal last season. ok, he didn't play that many games, but even so... cisse will hopefully be more prolific, but he isn't proven in this league.
owen never seems to have been fully appreciated by liverpool fans. maybe it's the fact that he's seen as england's first, and liverpool's second. but he's class and we're going to miss him when/if he goes.
if owen's messing the club around then maybe getting rid is the best thing, but i can't say i'm happy about it. |

i'm afraid that owen has lost it. he will probably never be such a big star anymore as he used to be. he'll be like another robbie fowler and you made the right decision when you sold him.
there's no point building a team like liverpool around one 'star' player and if owen doesn't fit in the new manager's system, i think that the only good decision is to let him go.
of course i might be wrong and he'll score 38 league goals this season and a hat trick in the champions league final. (oops! champions league final! haha) _________________

| I've thought all along that he wasn't gonna sign a new contract till at least they'd reached the CL proper, despite it looking like he just meant he'd sign providing they finished in the top 4 last season, thus guaranteeing CL football (albeit a qualifying tie). is it the most drawn out contract saga ever or what? it's sickening to read things like he might be left out of the team tonight so he won't be cup-tied for any potential buyers. or is it all just tabloid talk... |

what makes you say he's lost it? the press always come out with this bollocks when he goes a few games without a goal and he ALWAYS comes back. form is temporary class is permanent. and michael owen is class. end of.
who says owen doesn't fit into benitez's system? i don't think the decision to sell is coming from liverpool, unless owen is refusing to sign a new contract. i'm sure benitez would be delighted if owen committed his future to liverpool.
it's not a question of building the team around owen, but if you're building a team it does help if your best players don't leave. same situation with gerrard. and who's to say that he'll want to stay if owen walks away?
discordance:
owen said he wanted it sorted before the season started, so that implies a decision today or at least before saturday, rather than after the 2nd leg of the qualifier in 2 weeks. if benitez is allowed to put out his strongest team it should be good enough to get into the cl proper.
the mcmanaman saga was similarly drawn out.
there's no way this is just tabloid talk. although nothing concrete's been said, no-one's denying the story. |

well, michael owen is a good player, but if he really was that incredible, clubs like real madrid would be after him. i'm sure he will still score loads of goals this season, but he's certainly not indispensable at liverpool. _________________

Owen, like others, has said a lot of things. they don't all come to fruition tho. obviously he's not gonna make it obvious, but do you really believe he's gonna settle for the UEFA Cup again this season? of course, if that's where they end up, he should still stay, coz it's as much his fault as anyone else's if they don't make it to the CL groups stages. |
