I GOT INTO THE BOO RADLEYS IN 1991 I HEARD A SONG BY THEM CALLED THE GREATEST KISS ON THE RADIO WHEN I WAS ON MY WAY HOME FROM JURY SERVICE AT MOLD CROWN COURT. WE CONVICTED A FRAUDSTER AND I THOUGHT IT WAS VERY GOOD (THE SONG AND NOT THE FRAUDSTER) I BOUGHT IT FROM A RECORD SHOP IN RHYL AND THEN BOUGHT EVERYTHING ELSE BY THE BOO RADLEYS (MRS KEN THOUGHT I WAS JUST BUYING RECORDS BY THEM TO SHOW OFF BUT I THINK SHE WAS JEALOUS BECAUSE ONCE WHEN I WAS DRUNK AT THE WMC I SAID I LOVED THE BOOS MORE THAN HER! IT WASNT TRUE REALLY IT WAS ABOUT A DRAW!)

I WAS IN TESCO BUYING SOME HAM AND A PINEAPPLE WHEN I FOUND OUT THAT THEY HAD SPLIT UP (THE BOOS THAT IS) BECAUSE I HAD A SNEAKY LOOK AT THE NME (BECAUSE EVEN IN 1998 I WOULDNT BUY THAT TRIPE!) I WAS SO UPSET I CRASHED MY TROLLEY INTO A BIG DISPLAY OF CORNFLAKES AND KNOCKED THEM ALL OVER.

THEN OF COURSE I STARTED FOLLOWING THE CAREER OF THE BRAVE CAPTAIN (BURN BABY BURN!) AND THE REST AS THEY SAY CARTS IS HISTORY!

AGELESS AND EVER EVER GREEEEN!!

HAVE A GREAT DAY CARTS WHEREVER IT TAKES YOU!

i won't even attempt to top mr kens story but as tommy boo demands an answer here's my boring one...

got into boos through giant steps, beer n subbuteo. Stuck with them 'til the end, looked out for news and bought the first mini album the day it came out. Thankfully there's still enough reasons to keep buying his records n thats why i'm here now.

I probably heard about the Boo Radleys through NME way back in the day. The first thing I bought was “Every Heaven E.P.” right around when it was officially released. I think I bought both “Everything’s Alright Forever” and the Pale Saints “In Ribbons” on the day of release. I’m in California and had to wait until our shops got it. I remember thinking after hearing it a few times that I might have stumble across a very special band. Than “Giant Steps” came out a few years later and for me it is one of the best album ever put out. I did cry the day I found out that they were no longer. This news really shocked me because I think “Kingsize” might be the album that has touched me the most. I just felt lyrically that Martin Carr was writing songs for my exact situation. This has always been the case but more so with this album.

So I have been watching and seeing where Brave Captain went. I own everything so far and after reading that Stylus interview earlier this year I know Martin will always be making music. That is great news.

Yep, that one. Apparently it's because the fingers are like an 'I' and an 'L' and then the whole thing (without the thumb) is like a 'U'. Cool eh?

I got into him 'cos he wrote a song about me. Only one though, the bastard. And that was years ago. And you can't buy the bloody record anywhere. Where's my remix?

Arrr, ever since he came to me and asked for advice on how to be a captain. I patted him on the 'ead, gave him one of my crunchy golden cod fillets and told him to come back when he'd grown a beard. Now look where he is today.

I was into Boos since Giant Steps time. Was gutted, natch, when they split...

Found out somehow about Brave Captain demo on 'What A Carve Up' compilation so that was the first BC thing I had... Then obviously when proper releases started coming out I got them... I remember booking the day off work for Fingertip1!
