The headphone bit on my Ipod broke today and its out of warranty so in the space of a single tube journey it transformed itself from a lovely little music player into an expensive little hard drive. I am therefore turning my back on modern technology in protest.

If you see a bearded man wandering the streets of London dressed in robes and carrying a gramophone on his shoulder then please say hello to me.

... and obviously the best way to protest against modern technology is to post on an internet message board about it!

Commiserations on the pod.

The internet isn't modern technology! Its just Teletext with more porn.

TOTD is Into The Groove by Madonna. Its still her best single.

Hi John. How far out of warranty is it? Its a little known fact that warranties aren't actually worth the paper they are written on.

A piece of electrical equipment like an ipod should last for around 6 years. If it is less than 3 years old I would certainly take it back.

Get your receipt and take it back to where you got it from. If you purchased it on a credit card or with finance the company who funded it are legally obliged to repair/replace under section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act.

So There!
