'All Watched Over By Machines Of Loving Grace'
(Wichita)
Machines do what we want. We design them, we control them, they're our slaves. They're just machines, right? Wrong. The machines are revolting; we're losing control. This album tracks Bravecaptain's (aka Martin Carr) efforts to control machines. At times, Carr had the upper hand. But then things start to change... Despite a strong start and a title track which rocks (albeit electronically), 'All Watched Over...' is a patchy affair. Carr is often dangerously close to losing control, not just of the machines, but also the listener. The ridiculous 'Little Giant' and directionless 'Flow Machines' prove the machines really have taken over. You're left thinking that this project (to record primarily electronically) was a good idea down the pub, but that, in reality, all Carr wanted to do was pick up his guitar and ROCK...

i would if i could but i can't.
hmv review:
‘All Watched Over By Machines Of Loving Grace’ is the fourth album from former Boo Radley Martin Carr. This is the first record he has released since 2000 and can easily be described as his best so far. Created entirely at his home in Cardiff, ‘All Watch Over..’ features Carr’s unique take on classic songwriting and some beautifully warm electronics. Sublime stuff. |

well i'll buy a pint if you come to the local wetherspoons here in barnsley.
and if you bring your elephant tranquilizer with you i could think about shooting you after a couple of drinks if you just keep on asking if i want to play drums for you. _________________

fuck me clarts
the laptop is a recording studio, that's all.
you dont hear them review coldplay and say 'oh they've gone all recording studio on us' now do ya?
i don't mind if they think it's shit but they sound like my fucking grandad and he's been dead fourteen years.
anyone wanna play drums for besides tommy?
dave w, the sooner michael owen fucks off the better. we can have a steady front two of baros and cisse instead of waiting for the dwarf to have a good game every now and then.
