OK, I tried hard to think of a really cheesy-sounding subject line question, but didn't come up with anything better...
So, why did you start to listen to Bravecaptain? How did you hear about his music and how and when did you find this site?

I've been listening to the Boo's since 1995/96, but I didn't know that they had split up until 2000 or something when I discovered the secrets of Internet!

"Bugger. They've split up nearly two years ago and I had no idea about that. I wonder what they're doing now."

So I made another search on Google, and found the old Bravecaptain website. The one with a weird looking machine on the front page and then very odd buttons on the main page that made navigating on the website nearly impossible. Smile OK, I think I joined the messageboard too and posted once or twice, but for some reason I didn't stay there for very long. Maybe it was because of my ancient ultra slow dial up modem connection... browsing websites wasn't always so enjoyable because of that old bastard! Smile
It took me much too long to come back again, more than a year at least. 'Go With Yourself' and all those had already been released, so I was a bit late (as usual). It was this website's predecessor and I can't remember anything about it anymore. Except for the fact that Che was the top poster on the messageboard and someone was wondering why I'm using so many smileys in my messages. Rolling Eyes I still didn't have any of the albums or the EPs, so I just posted a lot of nonsense (and I still do that) until someone from the board sent promo copies of the first two albums for me to listen to. (thanks a lot!) I liked them and started posting even more nonsense.
Well, then Sparky waved his magic wand again and made this new website which is still my favourite place on the Internet, and looks like I'm still here!

first boos album i bought was wake up! on the strength of wake up boo and a review that said is wasn't all pop like that (not that it would probably be possible to write a whole album of songs like wake up boo, but anyway...).

i thought wake up was great, so i bought giant steps. took me a few listens to get into, but quickly became one of my favourite albums ever. then got everything's alright forever, and c'mon kids when it came out. bought kingsize about 10 past midnight the monday morning of release after seeing the band do a gig at virgin megastore in london.

found out the boos had split on teletext one morning. it was a sad day. then heard, also on teletext, that martin was going to go solo, which was great news.

the fingertip saint sessions vol 1 came out on my 25th birthday, and i've been a bc devotee ever since.

can't remember when i found the old .com site. didn't have internet access then except at work. i never posted there and it had a strange layout. think i've been coming to this site pretty much since it started, though i've only been boring people to tears with regular posts in the last few months since i lost my job. sorry. it'll soon be over.

I got into the Boo Radleys when my mate gave me a copy of Giant Steps in about 1995 or something like that, and then I forced all my friends to borrow Wake Up! from me when that came out... In fact I actually painted a copy of the Wake Up! cover onto my friends bedroom wall 7' high! It rocked.

...and I found out that the Boos had split up at an Indie club in Coventry when the DJ played 3 Boos songs in a row dedicating them to the band. I was gutted, but took some consolation in that I think I managed to go to the last ever Boos gig (correct me if I'm wrong here!) at the Album launch of Kingsize, in a record shop in London. It was a weird gig as it was full of press people rather than fans.

I think I heard about Bravecaptain from an e-bay search for Boos vinyl maybe...

i got into the boo's, ooooohhh, yonks ago, it was when the lazy day single had just come out, and i was playing cards (as you do) with a mate once when bored, we decided to gamble, an eric's trip single of mine vs his lazy day single - and with the turn of a card, i won!!
me mate si loved this single soooo much that even though i hadn't so much as heard it, i had to hold him to his word and take it home with me! i still don't think he has forgiven me...
the single was top, so i have followed the boo's (and bc obviously) ever since.
anyone else out there into eric's trip? or is it just me? they was ace they was... reckon i might just stick 'em on me stereo right now...

I read he had some new stuff out under the name when I had a quick look in NME in the shop, like I used to often do (now I don't even bother doing that)... and bought anything I could find (which isn't always everything that's been released, over here)

I still don't know anyone who likes bravecaptain Mad

I wore my bravecaptain t-shirt last night to the pub quiz and discovered that my mates-mate is a fan.

I also discovered from my friend who is a sign language interpreter for deaf people that the logo with the hand means 'I Love You', which is nice.
