Old news but good news. (Grumble already posted about this yesterday.Smile)
It'll be exciting to see what the track listing is going to be like...

While we're waiting for further news, think about what would your Boo's Anthology be like? 16-20 tracks perhaps.
This is nearly an impossible mission, but here's my suggestion:

1. BOO! Forever
2. Lazy Day
3. The Finest Kiss
4. I Hang Suspended
5. Lazarus
6. If You Want It, Take It
7. Wish I Was Skinny
8. From The Bench At Belvidere
9. Find The Answer Within
10. Wake Up BOO!
11. Blues For George Michael
12. C'mon Kids
13. Ride The Tiger
14. Everything Is Sorrow
15. New Brighton Promenade
16. Four Saints
17. Blue Room In Archway
18. Kingsize
19. Eurostar
20. One Last Hurrah

Idea

Oh, can I add another 20, please?
Pretty please with sugar on top?

Wow, 20 tune limit is hard innit?

I can't be arsed right now but it would HAVE to have Whiplashed and Jimmy Webb Is God in there

that's way too difficult to be thinking about at the moment.

is there any chance of unreleased or rare stuff, or is it just going to be singles and album tracks?

Okay, we're probably delving into the realm of complete fantasy here but my ideal Boo Radleys anthology would be a 2CD set, the first CD being a "Best Of" and the 2nd being full of B-sides. A DVD would be available featuring music videos, TV spots, old interviews, interviews with the band members now, live footage (I'm getting hopeful now, aren't I?).

My tracklisting would be similar to Tommy's.

CD1 - The Best Of

1. BOO Forever
2. Lazy Day
3. The Finest Kiss
4. I Hang Suspended
5. Lazarus
6. If You Want It, Take It
7. Does This Hurt?
8. From The Bench At Belvidere
9. Find The Answer Within
10. Wake Up BOO!
11. Barney (...And Me)
12. C'mon Kids
13. Ride The Tiger
14. Everything Is Sorrow
15. Free Huey
16. What's In The Box?
17. Memory Babe
18. Kingsize
19. Put Your Arms Around Me And Tell Me Everything's OK (US Kingsize)
20. I Want A Rainbow Nation

CD2 - B-Sides

1. I Wanna Be Touchdown Jesus
2. Peachy Keen
3. Blues For George Michael
4. Friendship Song
5. Whiplashed
6. Don't Take Your Gun To Town
7. The Only Word I Can Find
8. Very Together
9. This Is Not About Me
10. Almost Nearly There
11. Flakes
12. Annie And Marnie
13. Vote You
14. A Part I Know So Well
15. Safe At Home
16. Everything Falls Away
17. Spanish Lizards
18. Superintendent
19. Last Night I Dreamt Of God
20. And Tomorrow The World

Melz.

P.S. Along the same theme, is there any more news about the Super Furry Animals' new Singles Collection that's meant to be out next month? I heard they were going to release a 20-odd minute live version of "The Man Don't Give A Fuck" as a single. Shocked Shocked Shocked

There was a documentary on ITV in the North West about the Boo's, I think it was in 1995. It was great, it had interviews with the band, a few videos, footage of them messing around at Loolapalooza. I'd love to see that included as an extra on DVD on a Boo's Anthology. I had it on tape for years but then it got recorded over by someone in family. To this day no-one will admit to this heinous crime, I blame our dog.

An SFA singles compilation will be great, I can't think of a bad single they've released. I suppose in a few years 'Greatest Hits' releases will be redundant as everyone will be able to download the tracks they like individually, rather than waiting for them to all be released on one CD.

That was me by the way. It would also be good if the Boo's albums could be reissued with all the B Sides and stuff as added extra's and lovely big booklets containing the sort of things that appeared on the Giant Steps mini site here.

Any kind of a Pink Floyd anthology would be shite because all the albums have different themes, therefore all those Pink Floyd compilations are waste of money.
(I have nothing against Pink Floyd, by the way.)

what is it with all these bands doing best of compilations. I thought they should come out at the end of a bands career. It seems a bit strange when bands who have only put out three albums have a best of. Suede, Teenage Fanclub, Pulp did theirs at the end which is ok but when Ash, Travis and such do it it feels a bit like a half arsed move to sell more cd's.

Pulp havn't finished have they?

I recenty got their best of DVD dirt cheap and it was well worth a purchase, for the amusing Pulp on TV compilation bit if for nothing else.

The Bad Cover Version video with all the Stars in your eyes impersonators singing Band Aid style is dead good too.
