So, what's the Gruff Rhys solo album like then?
(I know it'll be officially released tomorrow but some of you have probably heard it already!)
I only heard some acoustic live versions and they were pretty good, so I think I'll buy it anyway, I'd still like to hear what you think of it though.
Are all the songs in Welsh? (nothing wrong with that by the way, in fact I think it's pretty cool)

Boo.

i think its great. it reminds me of the fingertipsaint stuff. not in a way that would be obvious to anyone else but it sounds like a record made by gorwell owen in his house. its very warm and upbeat, inventive and spangly.

am a little apprehensive about it after hearing it live but I'm also guessing the recorded versions differ a fair bit... not least after him stopping up whistling the tune during one song to inform the audience that, on the album, that'll be horns (or trumpets or summat) Smile

still can't pronounce the title tho Confused

ta for the link, didn't know about that one, despite looking on the phantom-power.com phorum (...maybe it just went up today?)

oh, and while I'm at it, anyone know anything about bit torrent?

...you do? Shocked Smile

well, erm, can you explain it all to Tommy, or Che, or whoever else is able to host stuff, and then maybe, just MAYBE we can all get that session?

please? Rolling Eyes

damn, no one told me before, despite knowing more than the average person about computers and the Internet, that one day soon I'd know very little

shame you can't get the tracks involved here: http://uk.sonymusic.co.uk/forums/phantom-power/viewtopic.php?t=1691 as mp3s either

...unless you happen to know how to make them into mp3s from there, that is Neutral

oh, and...

that Ni Yw Y Byd/Gwn Mi Wn 7-inch... it's a "double B-Side" single, as opposed to a double A-side

funny. Cool

I heard it the other day, pretty good. Warm and melodic. I might even buy it.

Its a sound album, comparrisons between fingertip sessions are fair. Got a lovely spirit like ian browns debut too. Last song is a dead ringer for the Manfredd Mans "mighty quinn" though. This could be down to a man/sfa love in after their cover of "demons" mind.

the support acts I saw were 1) a singer/guitarist on his own, who I'm guessing is Welsh, but I didn't catch the name, and 2) an Irish act called Jape
