1999 can't have been that bad a year musically, Kinkster.
SFA's brought us "Guerrilla".

Someone please tell me what is so good cos I'm just really baffled by the pile o shite. Each to their own of course.

Maybe its something you have to be in the right mood to listen to, its not an album to 'get the party started'. I first heard it when I was off work ill and feeling utterly miserable and I ended up listening to it all day and wallowing in self pity. I've got fuck all idea what any of the lyrics are, nevermind what its meant to be about but it just sounds incredible to me.
Listen to the start of 'Soon' Kinkster - the fuzziness, the backwards drums, the fuck off guitars - surely you think that's amazing and want to have MBV tattooed on your forehead. Surely.
Having said that my brother bought it and thought it was shit. |

or alternately, chuck it away and don't worry about it. there is no law that says you have to like it.
three boats that left me on the island no matter how hard i tried.
1. bittersweet symphony
2. common people
3. bright eyes ('digital ash in a digital urn' is the closest i'll ever get)

I like it, and admire it, and respect it... but I don't fuckin' LOVE it, you know what I mean? It's a bit like the one good teacher at school in that respect... mind you mine was Mr Foster, who asked to borrow Wake Up of me, in return for a lend of Dummy. _________________ Scattershot Writing: www.jameseverington.blogspot.com |
