i think we should have gone with the 12 player formation. that would have been good.

What is the best and/or the most memorable goal that you've ever seen?

Describe them or show us some video evidence!

This one's surely one of the greatest goals I've seen (live on TV too!) - Darren Barnard's amazing volley against Huddersfield a few years ago. Just look at the score! Shocked
please note: this file is about 10MB so it might take a while to d/l it.

And this is quite possibly the most memorable goal that I've seen... I didn't actually see this game, but this was possibly the best football moment of the last decade. Check it out:
Clint Marcelle's goal against Bradford.

Quite a coincidence that they're both Barnsley goals, huh? Rolling Eyes

can't argue with that except for #4... and nice to see the fans of the supposed best supported club in the world (pffft!) didn't get their team into the top 5. I wonder how many more European Cups Liverpool would have won if it wasn't for Heysel

Let's ignore that for a second and just go back to...

Arsenal win 3-1 on penalties.

My dad was there, I watched it on telly.

I think the result was a very fair one on paper with Doncaster's first team playing The WengerBoys' second team. To be fair, Arsenal won it when Doncaster decided to stop attacking and start defending (A tactic which - interestingly - hasn't worked for the past eight years. Why they thought it would work when they were 2-1 up at 120 minutes against Arsenal is beyond me.)

However, to be more than a little biased, Doncaster could have easily won this game otherwise... and McIndoe's goal in the third minute was one of the most beautiful goals I have ever seen. They did a small town proud.

Notts Forest? Ehh... Merry Christmas.

The atmosphere at Anfield yesterday was really good - 3 o'clock kick offs are so much better than earlier ones when no-one seem to be awake.

Don't forget to go and visit my home team Darlington F.C. over the festive period....

Should be about 18.000 spare seats in that heap of crap on the outskirts of town (now soul and atmosphere free) that George Reynolds built for us.

Maybe they can use it as a retail park through the week or something.

Of course, if they were doing well, it might be a slightly different story..

I missed Liverpool's goals yesterday... For anyone who saw them: was it Crouch's goal, or another case of the media saying it was an own goal just to take something away from Peter C?

I don't think it would have gone in if it hadn't hit Given but they should definitely credit it to Crouch as I'm sure Given doesn't want it. Also I don't reckon Bowyer should have been sent off but that didn't take away from my pleasure when he was.

well, I just say it's only an own goal if it definitely wasn't going to go in without the intervention of an opponent. The Wayne Rooney 'goal' in the European Championships that rebounded off the post, was going away from goal, hit the keeper and went in off him, being a perfect example of what is an own goal. That, or Ronnie Whelan's 30-yard backpass/lob on Grobbelaar against Man Utd
Laughing

(you can laugh about it, seeing as Liverpool still won the game)

(hang on, I recently heard Ronnie say on telly that he was a Man U fan as a boy Shocked )

Lee Bowyer should be sent off at the start of every match.

bolton 2 liverpool 2

bolton are a horrible team. all pushes and dives and whinging to the ref and time wasting.

shit ref as well. gave us nothing except the most blatant penalty ever, which bolton still complained about.
