so anyway i found a copy of the new sfa single in the office today which was an unexpected bonus. sounds unlike anything else ever heard, and the thing i really like is that the 7" and album versions sound very different, like they've worked really hard at getting a version that will work on the album and a version that will work on the radio.
it has bits of elo in it and bits of ice hockey hair which sounds a good combination to me.
in general, fair play to the furries.
ps diggin the zab right now too. |

Zabrinski.
Apart from two songs being over 2 years old and also pale shadows of their former selves, "Ill Gotten Game" is fucking sweet.

Dexy's are great! No need for the "er".
I'm gonna dig that out now, haven't heard it in ages. _________________ We would like to announce that due to cutbacks the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off..... |

I don't get the Arcade Fire album, apart from track 4 (Power Out) I thought it was a bit bland.
I've just had a think about the albums I've bought this year and most of them are either from last year (Arcade Fire, Annie, Charlotte from Ash) or from ages ago (Kraftwerk, David Bowie, Ice Cube).
I'm losing my edge and to the kids from France and from London and need to seek advice about the hip new sounds of now. So if the bravecaptain board ace faces could post the albums which have been rocking their worlds recently on here i'd be grateful. With your help I can be brought kicking and screaming into 2005...when i've got a job and can afford to buy CD's again that is.
Until then I'll have to make do with Radio 2. Tomorrow lunch time Jeremy Vine is interview some young hoodlum who is the self proclaimed 'King of Chavs', that interview promises to be worth the license fee alone. Until a couple of weeks ago I'd never heard of an ASBO but Britain seems to have gone ASBO crazy while I've been away. |

i love the arcade fire album, but you can find their better stuff elsewhere on the interweb. look for 'no cars go' and 'i'm sleeping in a submarine' especially. and the bit towards the end of 'crown of love' where mournful atomspherics segue seamlessly into late-80's cheese house. bliss.
and the go! team made me dance for the first time in two years. |
