Anyway, does anyone know the difference between a modem-phoneline cable + a phone->phoneline cable?

Is there a difference? Tell me before I spend all my money in this netcafe?

Re: modem-phoneline cables... I believe that your basic, run-of-the-mill phoneline cable doesn't contain the needed wiring for your computer to communicate those nasty little 1's & 0's... I pick computer stuff up on Ebay or the net... it's generally cheaper and this sort of thing shouldn't run you more than a few bucks. In the long run you'll save more money than the net cafe... plus you'll be able to look at dirty pictures and download shitloads of music from the privacy of your own home.
