Thanks for pointing it out Dave Wubbleyoo
I've been listening to so much Bill Hicks recently, and was wandering if anyone had any more material they are willing to send / trade with me?
My current collection is:
Arizona Bay
Dangerous
Flying Saucer Tour
Love Laughter and Truth
Rant In E-Minor
Relentless
Shock and Awe - Oxford Playhouse 11.11.1992
United States Of Advertising Radio Interview
Radio One Tribute to Kurt Cobain and Bill Hicks
I want to say something deep and meaningful about how sorely missed he is, but can't find the words
Any other material gratefully appreciated!
Kinks

I saw him live in Nottingham in about 1992 I think. It was absoloutley brilliant, I don't think I've laughed so much before or since!

i've got loads of unreleased shows. some of it's a nit samey - like several shows from the same tour, but they're all a bit different.
i'll put a list here after the weekend when i've got it all. it's not all here at the moment.
i saw a video of the united states of advertising interview at a night in manchester marking the 10th anniversary of his death in february, but i don't have copy, so that would be good. and i'm sure i meant to tape the hicks/cobain tribute off the radio but didn't manage it, so i'd love a copy of that too.
"The world is like a ride at an amusement park. It goes up and down and round and round. It has thrills and chills and it's very brightly coloured and it's very loud and it's fun, for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time and they begin to question, is this real, or is this just a ride? And other people have remembered, and they come back to us, they say, "hey - don't worry, don't be afraid, ever, because, this is just a ride..." And we... kill those people. Ha ha "Shut him up." "We have a lot invested in this ride. Shut him up. Look at my furrows of worry. Look at my big bank account and my family. This just has to be real." It's just a ride. But we always kill those good guys who try and tell us that, you ever notice that? And let the demons run amok. Jesus murdered; Martin Luther King mudered; Malcolm X murdered; Gandhi murdered; John Lennon murdered; Reagan.... wounded. But it doesn't matter because: It's just a ride. And we can change it anytime we want. It's only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings and money. A choice, right now, between fear and love.
The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your doors, buy guns, close yourself off. The eyes of love, instead, see all of us as one. Here's what we can do to change the world, right now, to a better ride. Take all that money that we spend on weapons and defences each year and instead spend it feeding and clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would many times over, not one human being excluded, and we could explore space, together, both inner and outer, forever, in peace. my list of bill hicks bootlegs is:
Dark poet
I’m sorry folks
Filling up the hump
Live in Brighton
Chicago funny firm
Chicago 1990
Goatboy outtakes + the beginning
Chicago 91 + Chicago 89 (2CD)
Egham (2CD)
QTES
QTLS + Nothin’ goes right (2CD)
if anyone wants any of them, drop me a pm.
i can't really remember what's on which, except that "i'm sorry folks" is the one where bill launches into the most vitriolic put-down of a heckler in the history of comedy. a must! |

*Boompah!*
Dave I've still not forgotten. It's just I've been working an average 60-70 hour week since March and my life has somewhat fallen apart in the last 6 months.
The game is meant to be absolutely finished in no more than a fortnights time, then I PROMISE I will get a CD out to you in the post.
Sorry for the almost one-year delay on this. _________________ "fashioned by the blade of a world that doesn't care,

Ive nothing none of you dont have but Ive got a pirate VHS i got from ebay its really crappy visually but you can hear him, its a show in Chicago where he basically goes nuts and lays into the audience with an apoplectic fury where he ends up challenging them to leave and trying to piss them all off with. Its funny in a 'calm down Bill' way, its also got all the Letterman appearences tagged on the end. I think it might be the video of 'Im sorry folks' Id quote but i really dont want to offend anyone.
Bill Hicks, I think, is my hero, whenever I see a comedian live I always think how amazing it would have been to see Bill Hicks live in this place.
I saw a guy called reginald Hunter who was along the same lines but wasnt quite there yet.
to paraphrase him, the fact that Bills dead but Jim Davidson continues to tour... |

no problem. i'm sure you said the game would be finished in about march, so someone was obviously expecting you to be working 300 hour weeks. there's no rush. you could probably do with a couple of years holiday when it's finished, rather than rushing around doing cds.
