I saw Star Wars Episode III yesterday, meanwhile (shut up, I was.. er, too busy before)
...it's great!
in that, after 2 lame attempts, this 3rd 'prequel' actually contained a plot (even if it was a while into the film before it appeared)! maybe more of one than even the three originals ever had (although perhaps only because of the three originals could it ever exist, you could say)
shame about the dialogue and the total lack of (intentional) humour, tho

They got so much of Batman Begins right. Good work.
Shame about the second half... descended into usual villain with a weapon to destroy the city nonsense.
And the action scenes were just a bit rubbish. What is this crap trend for Hollywood fight scenes to be edited together so quickly you can't see what the fuck is going on...?!
But the cast, the tone, the look... all spot on. Hope they can get the sequel spot on |

er, isn't the sequel supposed to be the first Batman film with Jack Nicholson as the Joker.
I thought the card at the end was a subtle suggestion of that. Who could top him? |

Krissie, I am starting to doubt your judgement.
I've seen it, only cos it was free, and what a pile of...!
Especially when they put 40 minutes or more on the background story...pppffff.
It was pathetic even though Christian Bale, whom I don't like, fit as Batman.

Haven't seen the latest Batman installment, but I've been wary considering the others were so dire (minus the first one of course).
By the way... anyone fancy expanding their collection of
indie singles

'Crash' is ace, at first it just seems like its going to be a checklist of different types of racism but its turns into something much better than that, well worth seeing.
I read the book 'Crash' by JG Ballard ages ago cos the Manics mentioned it and thought it was pretentious rubbish. |

remind me to go see Crash.
Glad it has nothing to do with the JG Ballard book, if the (other) film of the same name was anything to go by

Batman was good I thought, I used to read the comic and it got the atmosphere down right.
I hope this doesnt sound glib, but did anyone see War of the Worlds, i know its just a movie but it kind of reminds me of whats happening in New Orleans (not the aliens, the panic and civic breakdown) |

Slightly dumb thought but I wonder if Katrina and the Waves are considering a name change.

one of the first things that came to mind when the news broke, was Katrina & The Waves... but to even mention it seemed to be the same as making a joke out of the situation
