From time to time I buy a record just for the sleeve, and in twenty minutes I'm going to head off down the local record shop and buy this mother for that very reason:

Genius.
Here it comes then -
Which record sleeve do you like to touch and look at and maybe sometimes if there's no one around lick?
One of my other favourites is the Accelerator 12" by Primal Scream. A mean tune with brilliant packaging on fat vinyl, and if I'm not mistaken the last ever release on Creation records too.

I quite fancy the sabre-toothed-rat playing the nuclear reactor control console, on the assumption its a female underneath......

I haven't visited the forum for a while and I've forgotten how brilliant it is! _________________ Find a job you like, and add five days to every week. |

That is a cool cover.
Lemon Jelly have great inlays - especially Lost Horizons...
(The full opened out vinyl inlay is better)
I also love my Future Loop Foundation 'Scratch and Sniff' EP!
... you scratch it and it smells of ice cream and things
The only record I bought -just- for the sleve, without listening to it though is 'The Little Computer People'
Fortunately it turned out to be good!

You are all mad and have far too much money!
Let's all club together and publish the bc album instead. How much would it cost?

That's my favourite quote of the year so far I think.
I may even write it on a slip of paper and store it the sleeve of the record, so that I can look at again in 2035 when the 30 year rule has run its course.
Saying that, if I bring a bird back and she spots the slip of paper she'd be right out the door before I'd had time to pour her a glass of White Lightning.
Guess I'll just make a note of it mentally. |

Ages ago on this very board there was a thread about the New Order album "Waiting For The Sirens Call" which just had the letters "No" on the front. The "is any good" debate divided the entire country I seem to remember and people fought in the streets.
Here's the story of why it such a simple cover:

I always loved the front cover of "Exit Planet Dust"
