i saw this film on tuesday...
www.somekindofmonster.com
like watching a real-life spinal tap, complete with $40,000 a month "performance therapists", slamming doors, temper tantrums, rehab and a lot of metallica... *cough*... digging deep and talking about their feelings. unintentionally completely hilarious.

| The Metallica film is absolutely brilliant, I've never really like the band but came out of the cinema doing one of those devil horn things with my hand and wanting to be in a metal band. My favourite bit was when Lars decides to make a new start in life by selling his art collection for millions of dollars at auction. I always find thats a good way to make a clean break with the past. |

The Motorcycle Diaries: if you can't afford to make the real film, the one that people would rather see (if they could ever make an accurate one, which they couldn't), then make the prequel... it's bound to be cheaper!
no, I enjoyed it, actually. |

last film I saw was Collateral, which I thought was excellent. It lost some credibility towards the end when the taxi driver took on the trained assassin, but otherwise it was absolutely beautifully shot and acted.
I loved the Motorcycle Diaries too though I was disappointed that Walter Salles decided to de-politicise it. Not that the book was overtly political, but you did get a sense of a bit of an awakening there.
I hit my left forefinger with a hammer earlier today, aiming for something else, it's surprisingly difficult to avoid typing with it! |
