which review was that? the Joan Earls one on Teletext? I've only seen one other review, which said it was great.
I'm just gonna buy it and decide for myself. He's earned that kind of trust from me, even if Guero wasn't his best work. |

yeah, it was. just read another one on the guardian website, which gave it 3 stars but then said it was pretty good. |

I think the songs on it are supposed to pre-date Guero, but that he had to wait for Nigel Godrich to become available... or something
I didn't know it was out tomorrow, though. Not even a single, after all his recent festival and other shows in this part of the world is a bit strange |

there's a single out next week, cellphones dead. seems a bit odd to release that after the album. |

I know of one other act who did that and thought it stupid, although I suspect they were waiting for money from album sales to fund the single. Beck is hardly short of cash, unless he gave all his away to Scientology... |

Like Cellphone's Dead. It's a bit all over the shop but it has some intriguiing hooks. However, I reckon the album will be a bit inconsistent..as usual from Beck. I find his music a bit too removed and dishonest most of the time, like he's hiding behind all this fake conceited imagery that his undeniably huge talent has concocted. _________________ www.myspace.com/storkboychoons

Mutations and Sea Change sounded genuine enough, but I know what you mean, the rest of the time |

i bought it today and am listening now for the first time. seems fairly accessible and not too self-indulgent on a first listen. i'm no good at judging songs on one listen, but i like it so far. |

The first Beck album I've bought since Odelay and I really really like it. Great packaging too!

I really like Odelay, Mutations and Sea Change but I don't think I need another Beck album in my life. I may be wrong. I usually am. |
