There's a bravecaptain 'sampler' for sale on Sonnyboy records now. Surely now's the time for us to pointlessly debate the track-listing? "what no 'The Sound of Wichita'.." etc.
1. bravecaptain - Whatever Happened to the Fingertipsaint?
2. bravecaptain - The Monks Jump Over The Wall
3. bravecaptain - Tell Her You Want Her
4. bravecaptain - Better Living Through Reckless Experimentation
5. bravecaptain - April
6. bravecaptain - Oh You
7. bravecaptain - Corporation Man
8. bravecaptain - Me And You Glue
9. bravecaptain - I Pledge Resistance To The Flag
10. bravecaptain - I Was a Teenage Death Squad
11. bravecaptain - All Watched Over By Macines Of Loving Grace
12. bravecaptain - My Mind Pictures
Stacks up pretty well actually. _________________ Scattershot Writing: www.jameseverington.blogspot.com |

what no The Sound of Wichita?
Actually, I was thinking more, "Hermit", seeing as it's the best song of this entire decade.

There are a few good songs missing from this collection indeed!
Let's see...
'Hermit versus the World', like Kinkster already mentioned, is one of the best songs of the new millennium. It almost makes me feel sad that it's missing... I probably would have replaced 'Tell Her You Want Her' with 'Hermit', if we want to stick with 12 tracks only.
And where's 'Jerusalem'? I love 'Oh You' as well, but if I could only choose 12 tracks that represent each era of the bravecaptain adventure, it would have to go...
Fuck's sake... just noticed that 'Weaponised' is missing as well! My English vocabulary isn't good enough to describe how ace that actually song is. Although I'm not sure whether I actually prefer the other version on allonewordsmallbee ('gunsforjesus')...
I'd like to have 'Stronger' there as well... instead of 'Me & You Glue' maybe? Hmm
And how come 'Good Life' and 'Mobilise' and 'January' and 'February' aren't there?
And and... I give up.
Conclusion: I think I would suck at making collection albums. _________________

In a better world than this one Weaponized would be on every album ever.
TOTD is all of Revolver stuck in a blender and mushed up into one litre of lovely strange poppy mush. Well done The Beatles.
Seriously kids, do yourself a favour and buy some of these:

I'm getting through a box a day at the moment. I am more seed than man. |

I just want a proper copy of The Little Girl Who Waves At Trains I found myself humming it the other day for no apparent reason.
In other (old) news...
The lyric bit on the Boos site has this line from Ride The Tiger: "You don't really know what it is you ask, all that I want is to find some piece at last."
should it not be 'peace'?
does someone know it's really 'piece of ass' and wasn't thinking when typing? |

I got a copy from E-Music - you can sign up for a trial and get some free downloads, and that compliation is on there (you don't have to download the whole thing). And after your free tracks you can just cancel if you want. _________________ Scattershot Writing: www.jameseverington.blogspot.com |
