i was listening to a finnish radiostation today i heard one of the new radiohead songs... i cant remember its name but it sounded quite boring actually. i was a bit disappointed.
anyway, also heard "my mind pictures" again! on radio that is. that saved my day, it's much cooler to hear it on radio, i don't know why. maybe because thousands of people are listening to it at the same time.
last time i heard that song on radio a week after the album was released. they talked about the boo's and martin's solo career too. it was cool, the guy at radio liked the new album.
it's a shame that i still haven't SEEN "advertisements for myself" in finland though. |

no no noooooo. don't worry about it. the Radiohead song you probably heard was the single "there there". its ok, but one of the least interesting of the tracks on the album. trust me, the record is unbelievable. Chronologically the second 'Important' album of the new century, right after our Brave Captain's "advertisements". Similar in that both records blend the organic and electronic elements pretty seemlessly, and in a way that has never been done before. Radiohead are the new Pink Floyd, and Brave Captain is the new Dylan. Forgive me, I'm starting to sound like Tony Wilson.....
....consider yourself lucky to hear anything remotely interesting at all on the radio. over here, we're stuck with mostly ads. and you've got your choice of Tool or Zeppelin, not that I have a problem with either, but that's all we get, cock rock or celine dion.... and then only if we're lucky. usually it's just 3rd generation Tool ripoffs. ("dancin' in the nude, feelin' quite a dude, it's a ripoff" -m.bolan.)
Basically, I'd give anything to live in a socialist country. here I'm just all deer in the headlights, waiting for the law to catch up with me, worrying myself to death over the millions we have here without health care, and the constant violence, and the loss of Constitutional rights, mass murder disguised as power politics disguised as compassionate conservatism. the vultures are circling, (we've had "cranes" flying over foreign airspaces for fucking ever) and there's no way to fight it all. _________________ "Even I know the solution: love, music, wine and revolution..." Once again, I though OK Computer was a landmark in music - pretty much everything I luck for in music was on that album.
But Kid A, Amnesiac, and now Hail To The Thief are pales shadows! Hail is at least better than the last two, but it's still pretty damn dull

In all honesty I should give it more of a chance, I've only listened to it twice and consigned it to a drawer.
