It will be interesting to see how things pan out over the next few months. One of Osama Bin Ladens primary causes for what he saw as his just intifadah was the continued presence of US troops in Saudi Arabia after the gulf war. Now they are leaving.
The "liberated" Iraqi people will not want iraq to become the new camp for the US in the middle east. They already easily see through some of the American bullshit. Like the fact that the oil ministry and oil wells were protected as if they were diamonds, yet museums and hospitals were looted.
WMD have not been found yet and the longer this issue remains, the rest of the world who were told that this was the primary justification for the invasion/liberation, ahould ask the US and UK some searching questions.
I still believe that if Iraq possesed these weapons in any significcant quantity it would have been sufficient to deter the US from invading. |

I'm pretty certain too that if they'd had WMD (fuckin' abrieviations!) then it wouldn't have happened. Basically uk/us have spent the last 12 years destroying them with sanctions and bombs (more air attacks in the years after the Gulf War than during it, Blair and Clinton ordered more airstrikes than any of their predecessors!), and its hard not to believe that they did that with an invasion in mind. Finish them off before they got there...
Gawd knows what will happen though, its gonna get really ugly and there is no way the Iraqi people will want an occupying force (which is what there gonna be, depsite whatever crap they try and dress it up as) will want them there either. Nice "road map" for Palenstine today too. Apparently the document never mentions Palestine and from what i've seen (which is admittedly just restricted to C4 news at the moment) it doesn't offer much and what little it does is dependant on some twatty conditions.
