my first one was 1977 (stop laughing at the back there) and i cried for twenty seven years. i still think phil neal could have extended his leg a bit more to stop the winning goal. i told him that once as well and he bought me a pint of guinness. that destroyed our treble dream. whenever anyone mentions utds treble in space 1999 all i can see in my head is jamie carragher missing an easy header against them at anfield that would have made it 3-2 and done 'em but the helium hero fucking missed and the arse couldn't even beat effin' leeds and brian munich went to sleep and ....oh fuck it. so they used to think that in 1999 there would be spaceships and people with strange robotic voices and posh lasses fighting monsters. that seemed more believable at the time than utd ever winning the league again let alone the treble. i wonder who will be on the bench? probably smith and van noselroy will start i reckon. rooney on the bench and saha standing by the bench 'cos there is no room for him to sit down. can't see that front four putting up with playing/not playing for too long. stuff like that.

Will saha be standing because rooney is a fat bastard and his arse will take up too much space?
The first time i cried over football was when villa were defeated in the simod cup semi final by middlesbrough in 1989 i think. It would have been my first time seeing them at wembly. i had to wait until 1996 when we thrashed leeds in the league cup final. Fantastic day.
Dwight YOrke at fucking birmingham city. He is taking the piss. I'm sure his return to villa park will see him get a very warm reception. wanker. _________________ Martin O'Neill's Claret And Blue Army |

| I cried when Arsenal beat us at Anfield in the last game of the season to win the league. That was in the olden days when Arsenal were dull and drab and we played beautiful football. And I nearly cried during the Bolton game at the Reebok Stadium last season because it was so cold and crap and I'd paid 35 quid to be there. |

yeah that bolton game last season was awful and freezing. but we should have had a draw cos a throw-in they got 5 minutes before scoring should have gone the other way, or some other gh nonsense. thank god those days are over.
having said that, last sunday wasn't much better, although it was
slightly
less cold. not much, though... |

The Reebok looks cool from the outside but I thought its a bit sterile inside. All credit to the designers though, I thought it was impossible to build a ground colder than the old Bolton one with the supermarket at one end but somehow they've managed it.
All the new grounds seem to look the same, just the same design but a bit bigger or smaller. I hope our new ground is a bit different. Of course BC will have bought the club by then so hopefully we'll have some say in the design. |

at least the reebok has a roof, unlike that old away terrace at burnden park. and it doesn't have a supermarket blocking the view from most of the terrace, which also has its advantages. sometimes.
the new anfield is going to look like this:
(sorry for messing up the formatting of the thread )
pretty similar to the picked-from-a-catalogue new grounds, but slightly different. dunno why the stands are so far from the pitch. not good.
there's more info on the new ground at:
http://www.lfcnewstadium.co.uk
obviously when martin sells a billion records and buys the club he'll be able to buy up all the houses round the current ground and redevelop in the current site, which would be good. |

The new stadium does look a bit like all other new ones but I suppose there aren't that many ways you can design a stadium. At least its not going to be called The McDonalds Anfield Stadium or anything. I've just looked at the FAQ bit on that site and one of the questions is:
Will there be a singing section ?
The club haven't yet discussed anything like this, but it seems to be a popular suggestion among supporters and if there is enough support for one then hopefully the club could sort something out.
Does this mean that in other parts of the ground singing won't be encouraged or that only people with good voices will be allowed in the singing section? I suppose I should email the site to find out. |

presumably the idea is that people who particularly want to sing can sit together, so that songs catch on better. if people in other areas join in, i'm sure that won't be frowned upon. hopefully there won't be auditions to ensure that only people with good voices get to sit there! anything that avoids the current situation of a crap atmosphere every game, with people who want to sing scattered all over the place, surrounded by people who only sing "you're not singing anymore" at the away fans when we score, has to be good. |

graeme suness is the new newcastle manager!
no doubt he will be greeted by the loyal barcodes as the new messiah, then given a couple of years in which he will continue their noble trend of winning nothing before being sacked. |

Its madness that they've picked Souness to take over. If they just wanted someone who was going to scare Dyer, Bellamy and the rest of them by shouting loudly they should have got Sgt Eddie Stone in as manager. Or me. I'd spend all day shouting insults at Craig Bellamy for free.
Freddie Shepherd - if you're reading this then private message me and we can arrange to meet up. Also what do you think of the new Brave Captain album? |

MIDDLESBROUGH
Because we won the Anglo-Scottish Cup in 1975 and I was there. We beat Fulham. Has anyone else won that trophy? |
