I'm trying a podcasting experiment in research for a 'proper' radio show I'm doing on the subject next week.

If you have the time and the inclination, check out:

http://www.thegoodshit.co.uk

It's a seamless, all music, internet-based 'radio' show... I'm just looking for a little feedback, is all.

Thanks,

Thank you, Tommy!

The next one will be better... that was an experiment to see if I could use the technology.

Obviously, it's easy.

Its good Adam and has helped my morning at work go a bit faster which is greatly appreciated. Is there a list anywhere on the website of all the songs on the show?

Yes, click here .
Alternatively, go to www.thegoodshit.co.uk then click tracklistings up there and select the show.

Cheers Tommy.

'considering a move to memphis' is a great song, I've never heard it before.

It's one of the many that I heard through a late night crackle on John Peel years ago. I had to order their recent Greatest Hits CD from their label Stubdaddy Records in the States because no-one stocks it over here; but it was well worth the wait and the investment.

Thanks for checking it out John... did you download it through iPodder, or as a straight download? The only reason I ask is that iPodder will automatically download the next episode as soon as it becomes available. It sits in the background on your PC; it isn't at all resource hungry; and it's completely spyware / adware-free.

I sound like an iPodder evangelist!

It won't heal you, though.

I just clicked on something on the website and, as if by magic, Windows Media Player appeared and started playing me lovely music so I don't think it will automatically download but I await the next installed with baited breath. I also told a friend to have a listen he loved it too.

hallo Adam W!

I listened to the show once again (third or fourth time I think), it's really ace! Can't wait for the next one now. Hopefully Liverpool wins tomorrow/on Wednesday so that we'll get a good show! Wink (yes, sorry Martin this should be in the football thread!)

The Moody Blues song in the beginning is jolly good, but the real highlights of the show are the songs by Caravan , Shack , the medieval sounding songs by Bert Jansch and Focus (love that part in the middle!), Steve Winwood ... how do you find all that good shit , mate?! Very Happy

I like Colorblind James Experience too, but 6:43 of that is fucking doing my head in! Laughing The Serge Gainsbourg song might make you look very 'cosmopolitan' but it's fucking shite, sorry. Even the Pink Panther song after that stinker sounds like a true masterpiece. The Supremes (yeah!) song might be good too but the parts where their voices go really high sound a bit fucked up because of the low sound quality. I liked the Hard-Fi song very much at first as well, but now I usually just want it to end quickly because I know that the Beach Boys song will play after that, and I fucking love love love that tune. Shocked

This is seriously good stuff - I dig your shit! hahaha

I'm afraid it is, Martin. Well, the album is called Hocus Pocus (and it's by Focus). The song itself is called 'House of the King'. I can imagine a group of silly bearded men wearing tights jumping around in the recording studio and playing panpipes and taking this stuff far too seriously - but that just makes the song more hilarious! I might be completely wrong of course. Still, it's cool in some twisted way, I like it! Surprised
