not all true, however, there are now women directors & producers yeah, but very few or should i say "to some extent." As i may recall, I remember a time when there was not one female producer or director, so i'd have to say that atleast 50-65% or more, is still runned by male directors, producers, etc.

Having got the album now... in what way is the cover "titilating"? Which in my dictionary is defined as an image or something stimumatling sexual desire.. I know 'it' is supposed to send you blind but I didn't realise that was because you were meant to stare at semi-abstract pictures for hours on end before you even worked out what it was...
Why is the 'naked women' on this Manics cover "titliating" and the one on Holy Bible considered some revolutionary sacred-cow image? Because she's fat? Aren't fat people allowed to be "titilating"?
Why does the use of a 'female body' on an album sleeve get analyised as to what it 'means' and if they have a reason to use it, but not (say) whatever the hell is on the front of AWOBMOLG?

As this seems to have died a death, I'll provide an epilogue (at a slight tangent):
When I was at University a girl in the same halls as me was doing a course in 'Gender Studies' or something and part of it was 'Representation of Women In The Media' - for part of this they had to buy a pornographic magazine and write an essay on it (fair enough, given the course...?) This girl said she didn't feel comfortable buying such a mag, so I said "stop moaning, give me a fiver and I'll go and buy you one as long as I can keep the change for the uni bar tonight as I'm skint.." To which she agreed. And told her friends in the halls of residence who were also on the course. And who
also
were sheepish buying such things. I ended up agreeing to buy porn for
all
of them.
So I headed off to the newsagent at about 3pm with about £60. Braod daylight and the shop was packed. And I reached up and picked up a copy of every top-shelf magazine in the place. Everyone was LOOKING AT ME. There was tons of them - but I still didn't have enough for everyone so I had to get some of the mags twice. It all weighed a ton as I carried them to the counter where the man who owned the place was grining at my beetroot red face... After he'd S-L-O-W-L-Y ran them through the till & I'd quickly paid he said:
"call again next month?" as I fled out the door!

I thought most people sleep naked, I know I do and my husband does too. Mind you he does wear socks, which is really annoying. Surely sleeping naked is simply a way to air the body, to let the skin breathe a bit. And anyway, it's a lot less hassle if you strike lucky!!
And Porn, hmm. Has anyone seen that really awful film called Bedlam that revolves around talking mattresses exchanging who has shagged on them. I caught my neighbour watching it. Or the one with the man getting down to it with a ring doughnut?? I'd be interested to know. |

Hahaha...hubby's saying you're too naked too often.
I don't know that many people who sleep naked, but people who sleep in underwear.
One of the main problems with this thread is people equating nudity, sex and porn, which isn't the same thing.
I can only speak for me but for me porn is an entirely different thing than nudity.
But eh...L&P
