setareh, what is the feeling of juventus fans towards liverpool now?
i know the clubs have worked quite hard to build bridges, but i don't know whether that extends to the fans. a lot of liverpool fans have juventus as their favourite italian team, and you quite often see people wearing juve shirts in the city.
is there still anger among juve fans? do you think there will be trouble in turin when we play there?
i'm sure there will be some gesture of friendship and goodwill at the first leg, which will hopefully be taken in the right way.
memoria e amicizia
forza juve. forza liverpool. |

We are rebels Tomi!
Dave, most Juve fans have no trouble with Liverpool whatsoever, and an Italian says as long as you don't go in some back ally with a red shirt you should be fine.
Some crazy hooligans will probably feel anger but that's the way it is, the average Juventus fan does not feel angry towards Liverpool.

that's good.
i have no intention of going personally, but i'm sure liverpool fans will go to turin.
there seem to be some scary juve websites with people intent on revenge, but presumably they aren't representative of juve fans in general.
i'll be very happy if this tie passes off without anyone getting hurt. |

not forgetting prized asset Ian Rush was sold to Juventus a couple of years after
Heysel
... so they should look favourably on Liverpool
Wait, how did Rushie do over in Italy? |

Mmmmmm, I haven't seen Juventus at all this season but I assume they're still quite good at football. I've really got no idea if we can beat them, our results seem to be so random these days. Hopefully we can push on from the derby win though (at the request of Dave W I didn't watch the game, hence we won).
Bizarrely its March here as well but its starting to get colder over here and the shops are full of winter clothes, all very strange. I'm off to my first football match in ages on Saturday, I'm going to watch Australia play Iraq. I'm sure the fortunes of the national football team are upper most in them minds of the people of Iraq at the moment.
Dave W - do you ever go to the away legs of European ties? The only one I've been to was the 2-0 against Roma when Owen scored twice, it was a brilliant night. They kept us in the ground for a couple of hours after the game and showed our win against Man U from the weekend before on the screens in the ground. |

I wore my bravecaptain t-shirt to the pub. it has now been renamed 'my lucky bravecaptain t-shirt' (although, er, Liverpool had woeful luck with injuries, while also deserving their win!)

I thought I read about the first bit of that. Seems an odd mix of torture and... erm... the opposite of torture. Why were you kept in the ground, exactly?

They kept us in the ground to let all the Roma fans leave first to avoid any trouble. We didn't get back into the town cente until about 3 hours after the game, thank god we won otherwise it would have been pretty miserable. |

you'd think the decent thing would be to let the visitors leave first, as there's less of them... and the home fans, for the most part, wouldn't have to worry about getting home so much
