They are a rubbish band, its like the NME were desperate for somebody to hype and they just happened along in a fallow patch. Its not so much thir boring songs or the guys horrible flat voice, or the lameness of the videos or the... well actually it is all those things but they'd be ok if they werent so absolutely loved by so many people.

Yeah Im aware that hating on succesful bands when I myself dont actually make music is pretty lame, but Im sure theyll survive

Do you hate all music that sells well then?

No way, most of my cd collection comes from the charts. I just dont think they are any good. I dont particularly like the Scissor Sisters music but I think they are brilliant band cause they have a lot of character. The Killers are just kind of dull, the songs are boring too, and I cant understand how they get so much acclaim when there are so many other bands so much better than them around. Or maybe Im just getting old.

Oh was that calling me on the 'hating on succesful bands' comment, what I meant was I always feel criticising bands is kind of lame when you dont make music yourself, as bad as the killers are they still write songs a thousand times better than Im capable of.

In my opinion almost everything on NME nowadays is quite shit.

Now where have I seen this picture before...? Rolling Eyes

NME....
I think as someone said earlier.....

it's all about getting old. Rolling Eyes

I can see nothing special about The Killers, they sound like Idlewild a few years ago who now sound not unlike Big Country (IMHO!)

Perhaps by sticking them on the Sunday it allows those-who-have-to-be-at work-on-monday to leave early and not feel they are missing anything.
Fair play Eavis!

Apparently they'll offer it to the first artist to accept.

GET ON THE PHONE, MARTIN!
