Did anyone here watch any of Live8?

I dipped in and out but caught nothing to capture my imagination (tbh the eng-aus game at Lords had my attention for the afternoon anyway)

Went to see some friends who were having a get together and when I got there they were drunk and telling me that this was the most important day in the history of the world and trying to explain it in words of one syllable to my little boy (who deserves more intelligence than that).
Leaving aside the flaw in this statement I felt unable to argue or stomach it anymore except to leave them with the phrase used elsewhere in this topic 'see you again in 20 years'

Pink Floyd's album sales have reportedly gone up by "1,343%" since Saturday night. Others, too, have benefitted hugely saleswise. Of course, that wasn't an incentive for them beforehand.

I didn't see most of it, but Pink Floyd was enough to make anyone die of boredom, nevermind hunger or illness Neutral

...although the 'Floyd are giving any profits to charity, so that's good.

I like Pink Floyd by the way.

doubt they'd do it if they weren't embarrassed into saying they would by 1) the reported sales increase, and 2) the fact people are ever more cynical about the motives of people to show up at these events

tho at least you don't see PF showing up at them all, like someone I could mention, but won't
