Don't knock it fella, it's exactly the same style I've employed in my masterpiece. Timestreching? track slicing? Fuck all of that shit!

I used cubase as it's the only thing I have (was generously supplied with). The whole mix took about an hour to do, which gives you a good heads up as to how amateurish it will sound once uploaded.

Good tunes though.

It took me hours to do mine, although most of the time was spent getting legal clearance to use the songs. The Beatles initially refused to let me use their song but after I played the mix to Paul and Ringo they realised the calibre of the DJ they were dealing with and not only let me use the song but also agreed to play on my forthcoming solo album. It will be a concept album and is provisionally entitled "How Can The BBC Justify The Continued Employment of Mark Lawrenson?".

Have a great birthday Kinkster and ignore what Tommy says, eat loads of cake, cake is ace. You know what else is ace? 'Arrested Development', a comedy I saw on BBC2 last night. I had no idea what was going on but it was really funny.

Arrested Development is excellent. The series that is on bbc at the moment is series 2, but you can get series one on dvd.

very worth getting.

So can anyone help me out on making the whole mix the same volume?

I thought Arrested Development were shit, I especially hated Mr Wendel.

if you're using Cubase, shoving Steinberg's nifty Compressor effect into one of the master channel effects slots should manage loudness for you (with a little perusing of their presets). compressors are what radio stations use to keep everything the same volume anyways...

You might want to normalise each track first, so they all start off at the same volume (there's probably some option to 'normalise to a peak level' or something).

It's finished mate. Unbelievably amateurish and doesn't include any tunes I've been listening to in the last 3 months, but still....... Wink

Where do ya want it?

DOH!

I thought I had uploaded it, but on checking I saved the files to my hard drive instead! Not a lot of use to anyone really.

Sorry, will put things right tonight!

Sorry I can't let this one languish on page 5-6 as it's an ace idea and I've loved some of the efforts so far.

Anyone else having a go?

I've now attempted a newer more daring version about 18941300 times and it's sounded shite every damn time. I still can't figure out how to get a normailzed mix either. Hhey Martin, maybe I could send you a bunch of tunes I want putting into a mix and you can do it for me?

Laughing

I did a second mix, it took me ages messing around with 'sound recorder' on my pc, then with 'paint' and then I had to pay akira the don to advertise it on his website:

http://www.bravecaptain.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2092&start=18

And after all that no-one downloaded it. Not no-one as in 'not many people', no-one as in not a single download.

Now I wish I hadn't quit my job after making my now infamous "You can stick your job up your arse, I'm going to make millions by becoming an internet DJ mixing genius" speech over the PA system at work.
