I won't find out until tomorrow afternoon; but, hopefully, yes!

And Saturday was a complete waste of time, wasn't it? Apart from the snow flurry just before kick off.

That banner is ace.

Hope you get a ticket Adam and I hope the game is better than the one tonight between Barcelona and Chelsea.

thanks for that. ron saunders is a born again christian. No mention of nigel spink. Maybe thats because he is now the goalkeepers coach for the blue half of birmingham.

Attention Kinkster and Sparky:

Having seen Sheff Utd and Preston leave HP Towers with 0-0 draws in the last couple of weeks, I'd be worried about the Leeds juggernaut and subsequent play-off success if I supported SU and pretty confident about a play off spot if I followed PNE.

Allez les verts!

Blades always seem to follow this pattern, though not quite to the same extreme.

The last 4 or 5 years we have had a pretty good start to the season, followed by an appalling run in the last 4 months. Last year we were in 3rd or 4th at xmas and proceeded to easily miss the play-offs by some margin.

This seasons amazing first half is being followed by an equally amazing fallow period. Call me pessimistic, but right now I have no doubt at all that we will be in - and lose - the playoffs.

loan = farce agreed.

last nights game was pretty good. should've been 3-3 at half time, Norris & Nugent must be wondering how the heck they didn't score. pne shaded the second though we finished well. saw leeds at palace on sat - £30!!! thank feck i had a freebie!! - leeds were very very good and seeing as i've only seen Reading lose this season - Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy - they are the best side i've seen and were a comfortable 2-1. pne looked a solid play off bound side mind. crap ref though, always seem to get them against pne! the 6-4 years ago was full of comedy bookings and sendings off, yer 3-0 win in the cup (though deserved) was shockingly reffed and last night, pah, poorest ref this season! for both sides!

Sounded a good game on the commentary - if we don't make the play offs it will be down to finishing. We have no proper strikers. We have 17 draws this season, nine of them 0-0s!

You guys will finish either 12th or 13th and I will be anybody £1,000 cash on that right now. With the optimisim and financial security that will follow the purchase of your ground from the council you can build on that next year and hopefully challenge for a play-off spot.

Quote of the night from our commentator:

"And here's Micky Evans - turning circle of a traction engine and...finally he gets the shot in which is easily saved."

Sounds like he did a job though.

so, liverpool are out after a pretty poor performance... i would have thought that they could beat benfica but they couldn't even score. also, sami hyypiä's 40+ euro games run ended in the benfica game when he wasn't chosen in the starting 11... maybe there's some sort of a connection there... Wink
seriously though, a question for you all who know liverpool better than i do: do you think hyypiä is still good enough for liverpool and will he play regularly after this, or should he start finding another club? there have been rumours for about two years now that he'll be replaced... actually, i'm a bit surprised that he's still in liverpool after all these years, i've never been that impressed when he plays for the national team, but he almost always seems to play quite well in liverpool.

barcelona were great against chelsea and totally deserved to win. that messi kid is quite amazing really. barcelona aren't afraid to spend a lot of money either, but i'm happy that chelsea are out... jose mourinho is just so arrogant and annoying, and after reading his comments after (and before!) the barcelona game i dislike him even more.
"mourinho's got a degree in psychology, it's mind games" ... erm, no it's not - he's just a complete tosser.

setareh must be happy that her favourites juventus got lucky in the end and made it to the quarter finals. i only saw the highlights, but i feel sorry for the werder bremen goalie... he played so well and then made a horrendous error like that just a few minutes before the final whistle. to be honest, i would have liked to see werder bremen in the quarter finals, but maybe the best team won, i don't know (because i didn't see either of the games!)...
does anyone really read my footie ramblings?

i watched arsenal vs. real madrid on wednesday... not a bad game for a goalless draw actually! thierry henry must be the best player in england at the moment and one of the best in the world, his finishing is brilliant, he's a great playmaker, and he can also defend unlike most of the other star strikers. i think arsenal were quite unlucky not to score, but i'm glad they won because... um, i can't really stand real madrid either. Hi Tommy - I haven't got time to quote your questions [the supermarket beckons, woo hoo!], so I'll give you my opinion of Hyypia... firstly, he didn't play on Wednesday night because of an injury, he wasn't dropped. I would imagine that Sami's name is one of the first on the teamsheet [ah, cliches!] and I am certain that if Sami had been playing against Benfica, Simao wouldn't have found as much space to score his goal [Carragher looked panicked all night because of Traore's presence], and we would have been much more secure in the centre of the park [where Sami's aerial prowess dominates].

Sami would have been very useful for all of the corners we 'wasted'; but - even with him playing - it's doubtful that we would have scored. We would just have made a better game of it, I think.

Still, I thought Benfica were very well organised, and in Simao, Gomes and the Brazilian forward whose name I've forgotten, they pose enough threat to worry anyone left in the competition.

Sami, to my mind, has been the single best signing we have made in the last 10 years. He's not the quickest, but his positional sense and aerial ability are second to none. He's "only" 32, and I think he has another couple of seasons, with suitable back-up [Agger], in our first team. He has been lucky with injuries throughout his Liverpool career - other than some back problems early on - and I think that this will be to his benefit in the latter years of his career.

So, to answer your original questions succinctly... yes, he's still good enough; yes, he'll still play regularly for us, and, no, he shouldn't be looking for another club!

Messi = wonderful,

Mourinho = pantomime,

Henry = inconsistent this season. Give me Kevin Nolan instead, please!
