here we're getting into some embarrassing shit.

Thom Yorke could make a record of farty armpit noises and I'd buy it.
Morrissey, sure Maladjusted and Southpaw kind of sucked, but man it's been like six years. Surely he's got a decent album by now!
Jesus and Mary Chain/anything either Reid does.
Frank Black has paid his dues, and his last 3 have been great.
Axl Rose.....
David Bowie, Cornershop, David Byrne, New Order, the Cure, Spiritualized, Roxy Music/Brian Ferry, XTC

Axl Rose?
I kinda like Guns n Roses, they have a couple of good songs, but Axl Rose has to be one of the biggest idiots in the history of music!
Why don't you try Hanoi Rocks instead? Rolling Eyes People usually compare them to Guns n Roses, but I think their music is pretty much different. And Axl Rose has said that if Hanoi Rocks hadn't split up so early (that's because their drummer Razzle died) no one would have ever heard of Guns n Roses!

David Bowie is one of my favourite artists, but he has made some crappy tunes as well. Is Frank Black the guy who made the song "I Don't Want To Hurt You"?

I read a quote from the guy who does Radiohead's cover art and stuff, asking him if Radiohead became shit would he still work with them... He said "Not only that, but i'd become shit too in solidarity"

Belated reply tommy sorry.

Axl Rose is indeed one of the biggest idiots of the rocknroll world. However, the man has done some incredible shit with GunsnRoses as far as updating classic rock. And sure, they broke up ten years ago, and sure Axl's only released a single ('oh my god'<end of days soundtrack>) since then. But one has to cut him some slack for being completely insane (only-sushi diets, psychics and mystics, past lives etc. etc.). He is not and has never been a decent guy, far from it actually, but as far as the question goes, I wouldn't hesitate to buy whatever he put out on its day of release. Look at his band - Robin Finck, Buckethead, Brian Mantia from Primus... And lets not forget we owe him for discovering Blind Melon and Nine Inch Nails.

David Bowie. From 1982-1990 he released shit mostly. Then put out the decent Eno production 'Outside' followed by one of his best efforts ever, 'Earthling'. His last 2 are showing his age, but aren't bad records and I think he'll put out at least one more "Great" record before he is dead. Its one of those legacy things, if you can appreciate the good stuff you can understand the Shit on some level or other.

Frank Black did do that song. He was the Pixies 1987-92 or so. Solo he's been spotty but if you love him you love him. 2 of his last 3 (Dog in the Sand, Devil's Workshop) were really good. And I guess he's got a new one coming out tomorrow......

I recommend "Two Steps From The Move" or "Bangkok Shocks, Saigon Shakes, (Hanoi Rocks)" Smile

In my humble opinion, Appetite for Destruction, is a way more important rock record than Nevermind.

I am not an expert on either, so I can't say much, but Nirvana were made much bigger once Kurt Cobain died. L&P

grrr. Wherever I turn, I'm a fucking Gringo/. I can smell Canada from here. Wink

As far as it being so odd, you gotta note that you have a different perspective on this than I do. Equally valid, but different.
I'm fairly obsessed with the Radleys and bravecaptain. If I don't mention it very often its just 'cause posting from way out here it seems almost redundant.

And in answer to the implicit challenge, I'm going to make a goddamn mix CD for to prove to you guys I'm not a sketchy nutter gringo. Give me a bit though, I'm ridiculously busy for someone so underemployed.
