Its been at least 3 days since the last torrential downpour so I'm saying that the summer is officially here. Lets have a great summer records thread. We'll take "Wake Up", everything the Beach Boys ever did and "Summertime" by Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince as given.
I'm going to nominate all of "Technique" by New Order for fun-in-the-sun brilliance and "Super Discount" by Ettiene De Crecy for its hazy summer evening loveliness. |

well, there are the obvious ones like "hot fun in the summertime" by sly and the family stone and janis joplin's version of "summertime" is smokin' hot.

Pretty much any track from the new Ash album _________________ "fashioned by the blade of a world that doesn't care,

She bangs the drums is to me the summerererst tune ever. For some reason though all those big cheesey dance anthems from the late 90's make me feel all summered up, its because I spent one whole summer (99)working in a foam factory with them blaring out over the speakers and the feeling of soon to be mental giddiness that swept through me every friday at 6pm made up for it being such a shit job. my fave was the opne that went "TWO TI-IMES doop doo doo doo-TWO-WOO-TI-IMES doop doo doo doo woo woo" yah! |

I spent a summer working in a warehouse packing bananas (this isn't a metaphor, I geniunely was packing bananas), I have never looked forward to weekends so much in entire life. Even now in times of trouble I just think "at least you're not still working in that warehouse" and all my woes seem insignificant. |

Absolutely have the same view here:
At least I'm not working at the chicken factory anymore.....

I've never had a crap job but when I'm out buying things I think to myself 'be grateful, you're not a sales person'.
