Not the place to log my feelingson this I know but I needed to rant a little (like I do).

For the last 5 months the boss has been warning us all that money was tight and no money was coming in. Eventually this has resulted in 5 people being given a months notice. They worked their last day this Wednesday, and I miss them all - two in particular had become really good friends in the 4 years I have known them.

So anyway this morning I'm looking for a Office 2000 disc, and I'm told to look in boss' drawer. I go into it and find his payslip.

In the very same month that 5 people have been laid off my boss has awarded himself a bonus of three thousand pounds.

Now, stop me if I'm wrong, but aren't bonus' awarded if something good is achieved? Aren't bonus' designed to award success ?

How the fuck can he sleep at night?

Oh well.

Sounds like your boss is a real cunt indeed.
When you find a new job, don't tell your boss until the day before you leave. Remember to mention the payslip as well, and tell about it to the other workers as well.

this is sadly quite a common business practice -- i've seen this scenario play out in nearly every company i've worked for.

basically, word comes down from on high that costs need to be cut. obviously one of the easiest way to do this is to reduce staff. then he or she who does all the sacking usually does get some sort of bonus for implimenting such great cost-cutting measures.

one company i worked for actually laid off about 100 people just so their stock could go up a couple of points.

fucking business... who needs it?

I know it's an all too common occurance and I'm old and wise enough to accept that. It will always piss me off though.

This boss took over from our last one in October 2001. At the time he promised that things would be different. That he himself was sick of seeing the company struggle with minimum investment and maximum profit to one person. That when the comapny was successful all people would share in the good times.

That he has been proven to be a liar is no surprise. i just don't lying Cunts, that's all.

oh he also drunkenly told someone (while I was sat next to him) in the pub on Wednesday, that when he took the company over he offered everyone the chance to join him.

well, i haven't had a day off since 14th june... so yes, i am killing myself with work. but it's okay.

31st july might be tough as i've got a party to go to. i'll let you know though.

find another job and then tell that prick to shove that piece of shit position firmly up his arse. there's nothing more satisfying than quitting a job you hate to a boss you think is a cunt.

the last big company i worked for offered me a massive pay rise to stay when i was quitting. telling my boss that there wasn't enough money in the world to keep me working for her was sooooooo sweet. when she asked why i told her it was because she was hands down the most incompetent head-case i had ever had the extreme displeasure of knowing in my life. then i told her to fuck off. goddamn, it still makes me smile.
