is there summit i'm not getting with wilco??.

i got summerteeth and being there, but i find nothing remotely interesting about those albums at all.

its the sort of music i listen to when i'm tidying my room or rearranging my music collection or summit.

nice background music.

or are the latest ones completely different?

the last 2 albums are definitely more experimental than the previous 2. but i think summerteeth and being there have some great songs on as well - you can't beat a decent tune.

i guess if you don't rate those albums at all, you might not like yankee hotel foxtrot or a ghost is born, but there's been a progression.

and they are amazing live if last night and kinkster's "religious experience" at glastonbury are anything to go by!

best band at Glastonbury by FAAAAAAAAARRRR.

Pretty amazing considering they were on at 1pm and there only seemed to be 1000 people paying attention.

I'm gutted i couldn't see them in Manchester Sad

I've been conducting some research into Wilco and by repeated listening to their records I've discovered that they're not as exciting as Embrace but slightly more exciting than the Bluetones. Shed Seven shit on all of them though. I hope you have enjoyed my findings. More from the University of Average Guitar Bands later.

i got a bit lost on the way to the venue and saw half of clearlake's last song. not bad, but maybe not long enough to make a proper judgement!

i actually saw a bit of them supporting electric soft parade last year and thought they were pretty good. i meant to get an album on the strength of that but never got round to it.

which of their albums would you recommend as being the better one to start with?

i got lido cheap on ebay and it arrived today. i've listened to it twice, and although it's not bad it seems like fairly standard indie-fare. i can't imagine it's going to reveal hidden depths of anything on further listens. am i being a bit hasty?

i got an album by mull historical society last year, and it was ok - quite nice tunes - but after 4 listens i felt i knew it and it had nothing more to offer, and i haven't listened to it since. i'm getting a bit the same feeling about clearlake.

i seem to prefer albums it takes a load of listens to get into - giant steps (hated it for the first 5 listens, then it started growing on me), kid a, yankee hotel foxtrot etc.
