Brother, you don't even know the half of it. If you've ever wondered what it would be like to live in Orwell's nightmare vision of a totalitarian state, well stop wondering. Because you don't want to know. It's absolutely horrifying. I actually think there's a decent chance that El Presidente and the men behind the curtain are going to make a serious power grab this time around. As if the november 2000 coup weren't real enough. The central and south americans I work with are a bit amused that we don't see it for the coup it was.

I've got this awful feeling in my gut that El Presidente is going to win the election with a suspicious "90%" of the vote. There's already talk coming out of the "office of homeland security" about postponing the election.

At any rate, I'm already starting to think about emergency evacuation plans. If you guys have a place for a few people to crash for a couple days in case something awful does happen, or if you just want to shoot the shit about what's going on over here my email I think is listed.
