"wasn't a fan of his earlier stuff. too ambient for me. i remember when his first album came out and everyone was raving about it, i was in the studio with wendy and dave baker, dave had bought the album and was furious because he just didn't like it at all (i think it was really expensive for then).

"i still listened though, i think he's a great musician and is always more interesting than most bands i can think of.

"i love the strings on this record. the beginning of 'blueroom in archway' is inspired by this record. i haven't heard it for a while so i don't know if you can tell."
