the boo radleys track 'it's lulu' is named after lulu's 70s pop music show 'it's lulu'

lulu

five feet tall, lulu began singing in glasgow when she was 14. real name marie mcdonald mclaughlin lawrie, her manager felt the name lulu was catchier and could prove more successful in the long run.

turns out he was right. a long and highly successful singing career began with lulu joining petula clarke and cilla black as successful british singers in the us in the 1960s.

a string of commercial successful albums provided lulu with the opportunity to move into tv, and the programme after which this track his named was the first step on the road to her role today as a regular presenter of the british national lottery.

martin takes up the story: "i was watching telly when an old film of some band came on with the words 'it's lulu' on the screen. i decided to steal it.

"later i found out that it was the name of a seventies tv show hosted by, yes you guessed it, petula clarke."
